Notes

The master analog cassette tapes of this show have pitch issues, and this fileset was derived from a A>D transfer we did quite a while back. It was likely a Harman Kardon tape deck plugged into the standard soundcard of a PC, editing and tracking using Soundforge, burned to CD using Adapted EZ-CD Creator, and then EAC>FLAC8 by me. Unless we figure out how to fix the pitch issues on the master, this is probably all we will get.

Subject: stars
Giving this 5 stars because i wouldn't want people to pass up such a great show. Understand how one can have a bad experience at any show though. So this only to average out the star system.
I will say these tapers do great work in all they do to keep it going forward.

Subject: Worst Ventura Show
Well I have to dissagree with the other reviews, because for me that show was so bad I left during Terripin. Drugs were a huge part but I remember that day clearly. It was HOT and dusty and I was wacked. My girl friend and I left in her bug and went to score. Sad but true. 26 years ago, god it doesn't seem that long. Thanks for the posting! Just one of those days ............

Subject: Cherries in the Stands
This is one of those rare, very fine and fiery shows. One of those incredibly twisted and spiritually spiraling, sound sermons...lessons in listening with heart, head, and soul. Because the Band had collected, separated, rinsed, and dried, the heart, head, and soul three, of every person at the Fairgrounds that day.. and somewhere after drums, the Boys started to slowly and selectively return each person's heart, head, and soul back to them. Like shuffling a deck of cards, comprised of three cards held by each person there.
A head, heart and soul card.
The Jerry's Cherries from the p-lot
and God, it was hot
the grandstands
corrugated tin roof awning.
The sound was thunderous and pounding.
This is an amazing teardrop, dream-stop,
for a moment or two in the past.
Just as the second set started, the heat, the down pressure
of the low tide, crimped the trip, slowly spilt to out side the gate, my wife and I.
Sat in the surf, on some rocks, watched and heard the Boys
set the sun right where she belongs.

“God, I love those guys.”

Subject: The very best of Ventura!
Ventura is the only venue where I saw every show and this is probably the best! Especially the second set. Obviously there were other great Ventura shows like the first year, the next year and the last show but this is the pinnicle! Why, because of the amazing "Percussion" -> "Improvisation" (by the way there is no air in outer space) -> "Moring Dew"! Not to mention the "Dancin' in the Streets", "Midnight Hour" & thr only time I knowe of Brent ever did "I just want to make Love to You"! The rest of it was pretty good too.
Oh, and by the way, Garcia never left the stage between Not Fade Away and Brokedown Palace.
